The domain name you choose will be the address people will use to find you on the internet, so a couple of things to keep in mind .

Related to the core of the business, (if possible your domain name should tell people immediately what you are about)
Short. Domain names are easily remembered
Easy to spell is rather impotent if possible keep try to find a domain name that only has one possible spelling.
Keep it simple and don’t confuse your audience. What is this? www.shoeswearing.com Is it ‘Shoe Swearing’ or ‘Shoes Wearing’?
Cover your options and buy more than one domain if you need to. Keep the plurals of your domain name also in mind.
Choose the right domain extension for your market or country. For example .COM for International; .CO.ZA for South Africa; .ORG.ZA if your a non-profit in South Africa.

Things ‘Not’ to use in your domain name:

Ampersand ‘&’.
Apostrophes “”.
Hyphen (-).
It is not recommended to use numerical characters
Sell phone text message abbreviations.
It is not recommended to use ‘2? for ‘to’, ‘4? for ‘for’, ‘u’ for ‘you’ and ‘ur’ for ‘your’.
It is not recommended to not pad your domain name with unnecessary words like ‘the’, ‘ltd’ and ‘company’.
It is not recommended to use brand names or trade marks which belong to other companies.
Do not confuse your audience by using two words, ending and starting on the same character ex. reddress.com rather go for redclothing.com
